The Carhartt WJ097 Detroit Women's Jacket is a contemporary take on the classic 1954 Detroit jacket, featuring the same waist-length cut, collared neck, two lower front slash pockets, and a horizontal zippered chest pocket. The WJ097 is made from Carhartt's sandstone-washed duck fabric, which is micro-sanded and washed for a soft, worn-in feel, unlike the stiffer, more rigid feel of traditional duck fabric. The jacket's sherpa lining provides warmth and comfort, making it ideal for cold weather. Carhartt first produced women's coveralls in 1917, but didn't launch a full women's line until 1998, with a renewed focus on women's workwear needs. The "Carhartt for Women" line debuted in Fall 2007.
